I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body focused repetitive behaviors such as skin picking or hair pulling, and all related disorders. I treat children (10 yo and up), adolescents, and adults.
I have a great passion for working with OCD and anxiety and love being the supportive coach to help my clients and families have a better understanding of the diagnoses. The best part of my job is when I see my client absorb this knowledge and gain the motivation to reduce symptoms to live a happier and more fulfilling life.
I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Florida and a masters in social work from the University of Memphis. I obtained my clinical license in Memphis, TN as well.
My background includes working with clients with social anxiety, OCD, trichotillomania, and other anxiety related disorders in research as well as in individual and group settings. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Exposure and Response Prevention, the leading treatment for OCD; and CBT with Habit Reversal Training, the leading treatment for Trichotillomania and Tics. I am also certified in TF-CBT for Trauma.
I facilitated an OCD support group and the Memphis Trichotillomania support group. I am a professional member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation and the Trichotillomania Learning Center, after having undergone specific trainings with each organization.
My past experience includes work at Daybreak Treatment Center, Continuum Healthcare, Health Connect America, and the Transformation Center for Women. I also worked at Compass Intervention Center, a residential treatment center for children and adolescents. I worked with those who have undergone severe trauma, anxiety, OCD, psychiatric illnesses, conduct disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, and more.
